Country Cottage in Surrey – Building Survey (RICS Level 3)
An attractive Cottage dating from the early 1800’s but substantially modified and extended. Our thorough inspection revealed that surprisingly, despite spending all that money improving this house none of the previous owners had thought to install a fire-retardant partition to separate its roof space from its attached neighbor. As it stands in the event of a fire, it could spread through the roof spaces, a potentially disastrous situation.
Mansion Flat in Westminster – Home Survey Report (RICS Level 2)
What a view from the roof of this prestigious block but also what a state the slate roof proved to be in. Full stripping and re-slating was required the cost of which, when coupled with other less than perfect factors we identified (lifts requiring replacement, boiler on borrowed time etc) our client decided to continue her property search elsewhere.
Extensive Renovations of Victorian Terrace House – Party Wall
A mid-terrace 2 storey house in Sands End not touched for 50 years. Our building owner extended it and converted the roof space. This involved demolition of the back addition and some fairly “meaty” props to the party wall. A properly thought through methodology and a careful contractor resulted in a minimal cracking and happy neighbors.
